Testimonials

Honest runners comments are the best source of praise, criticism and knowledge about running shoes—don't you agree. So here are just a few of the many comments we want to share with you. Thanks for writing.

Subject: Bravo - Mojo
I'll have to say I love my shoes. I meant to email you about them...but I wanted to really beat them up. The only negative for me are the shoe laces...they are sooooo long...
I honestly can't tell if I'm running in my Loco shoes or Asics!
Actually...I had been training for Chicago in a pair of Asics and a pair of Loco kicks. I packed for Chicago in about 2 minutes and thought I had brought my Asics...but I didn't.
Not only did I set a PR at Chicago (by about 19 minutes), I felt great afterward. I've run every marathon I've ever run (I think I'm up to 22 or something like that) in Asics and the only difference in this marathon and every other marathon I've ever run was my shoes. So you guys get the credit for my PR! Thank you! Geneva H. Little Rock, AR 72201

LOCO - I am interested in your stability shoe. I wear a 10.5 2E in a New Balance 606. Is the sizing comparable? Thank You, (We have found that New balance runners need to go up 1/2 size. I would try the mens 11 Mojo - LOCO Mike)

Mike - The Mojo shoes fit great and run even better! Absolutely, I'm really pleased with your product. Great motion control but very light feeling! Mike N. Richmond, VA

Dear Loco, How are things? I have been very pleased with the Loco running shoes that I have been wearing. The trainers work very well and the flats have been great on the roads. 2 weeks ago I came in 2nd at the Manhattan half marathon in Central Park. I used it as a tempo run and finished in 71 minutes on a hot and hilly course running solo for most of it. I wanted to save my legs for the next week where I competed in Italy in the World Mountain Trophy. I finished 28/154 and was the 3rd scorer for the USA Team. The US team finished 8/27. See attached pictures. Next up ING NYC Marathon in November. Thanks again,
Eric Blake

Dear Mike, I'm writing to say THANKS for talking me into buying a new pair of Loco Mojos at the Va Beach Runner's Expo this past weekend (March 18). Actually, you didn't need to talk me into it at all - they felt so great that I had to buy them. My coworker, Bud Albee, and I came by your booth. Don't worry, I don't expect you to remember us since I'm sure you saw tons of people that day. I was hesitant to try out the shoes in the 8k race the following day since they were new, but I wore them anyway and I got the fastest 8k time I've ever gotten! I had previously been wearing Asics GT-2100 and had been having shin splints and I felt that those shoes did not have enough "cushion." I can feel the extra cushion in the Mojos and after the race, my shins feel pretty good. Thanks again for creating such a great company and developing great shoes! Sincerely, Carol Zurawski

Great shoes!!!!
My wife and I purchased pairs of Locos at the Providence Half Marathon. Most comfortable shoes ever right out of the box. We both ran in them today in Providence, she ran in the Perfectos and I ran in the Mojos. All I can say is what great shoes. Mine feel like I'm wearing slippers. Keep up the great work. Steve and Deb Cranston, RI

Love the Mojo stability shoe -

Hello Mike,
I wanted to send you an e-mail and say thanks! I really like these shoes (Xpressos) they are perfect for me. You can be assured that my next pair will be purchased from LOCO Sports. Mike Monk

Your Xpresso's are great. I bought a pair at Baltimore and have only run in the three times, not over six miles, but they feel super—they have plenty of cushioning and the arch is in JUST the right place. They are a great deal. Thanks.
Amy R.

Hi, The shoes are well constructed; seams and materials are excellent; the soles and mid-soles are tough and grippy. I like the heel cup. It seems more supportive than others I have used, and it locates my feet and my orthodics securely. The toebox and the overall fit are excellent. (Xpresso runner) Mark C. Ohio

I can't stress enough how much I liked the shoe. (Xpresso)
Tim R. Portsmouth, NH

Hi Mike- Your sneakers are so comfortable. I am not much of a runner so anything that makes the workload feel easier for me is a welcomed relief and that is how your sneakers feel. They help my form as if I am floating along!
Thanks. Debbie S. - Harford CT, - Mojo

I just wanted to let you know that I have finally found a comfortable racewalking shoe! The Bandito's work great and I am thrilled that they are going to be around for awhile. Perhaps this will be the year I walk that PR. I'll definitely pass the word to my racewalking friends. Thank
You! Sue H

To Whom It May Concern,
First of all is that I recently purchased a pair of shoes from LOCO sport and want to let you know that I am quite pleased. Most of all is the fact that the quality was quite a bargain for the price. There are those who are quick to complain; however, very seldom take the time to compliment. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!
When you get around to making some Logo Shirts, or should I say "LOCO" shirts, I would be interested in purchasing one in size XXL? Please let me know? A friend of mine in the Penguin Brigade sent me the running song contest site, and consequently I ordered a pair of Loco shoes. Hopefully I will see you at one of the expos later this year. I am planning to travel to the Army Ten Miler, Washington, D.C. in October.
Other than that, when you expand to the south near San Antonio area or Austin? Thanks for your time. Super product, and I am well pleased and will recommend to my friends. Respectfully, Marathon John, Schertz, TX Perfecto

I recently won a pair of your running shoes in a raffle at a road race in Derry, NH benefiting non-profits in this area. I just received them and I wanted to send a sincere Thank You for sending me the brand new running shoes. I love them and will definitely be telling friends about them.
Thank you so much, Kerrianne P. Derry, NH Perfecto

Hi again Mike, I just wanted to let you know that I talk about the LOCO company whenever I am somewhere running-related. Yesterday I was at the Mill City 5K in Lowell and talked to some runners about LOCOs. Besides liking the actual shoe, what I like even better is the philosophy of the company—BY runners FOR runners. It's a great concept that I completely support, and therefore endorse it wherever I go. Any plans to have LOCOs in stores so I can direct people? Thanks and take care, Alison B, Rochester NH

Mike - XPressos are just as you described. A bit lighter, a bit more responsive, very comfortable. They compliment the Perfectos very well. Another great shoe. Thanks again!
Byrne D. Portland, ME

Hi Mike I'd love to stay on your site. I have been promoting your shoes within my 2 clubs Moose Milers and the Gate City Striders. My son Scott Rowe who runs with the Rochester Runners also likes your shoes and enjoyed your track event at Dover HS last year. Keep up the great products, OUR FEET LOVE THEM!!! Damian R Nashua, NH - Perfecto

Mike: Shoes received today - Xpressos - and I immediately went out for 3-4 miles on roads and in woods. Who can tell anything from 1/2 mile? I haven't run that far in a size 12 since I can remember. Nice not to be tripping over that extra 1/2 inch, and they really don't weigh much. I'm 5'10, 170 lbs., and the cushioning is great.

Hi, I love my pair of sneakers!!!! I walked all around Norway in mine. The pair I bought for my sister were a half size too small, so she gave them away, but I need another pair for her size 9. (P.O.Loco-031104....XPRESSO/ 1003-01.... WHT/NAVY/ORANGE.) She liked them very much.
She took them to Montana with her and after walking around for a while, realized they were just a bit too short. She liked the feel and would like another pair.

Linda, I don't want to jinx anything but I just wanted to take a moment to say "so far, so good." I've been very pleased with the loco "Perfecto" and have tried to convince my friends to give them a try. Marty

I just wanted to say thanks for a great running shoe. I have just run in my 1st pair of xpresso's and i have to say that I cant remember the last time that i have run in a pair of shoes that i have been completely satisfied with.
Thanks again! Totally satisfied, David Wagner

Hello, I receive your contact information when I won my pair of shoes at the Jingle Bells 10K up in Portsmouth this past November. I just wanted to thank you for being a sponsor for the race. I'm very particular about my shoes and have rarely gone away from the Brooks Ariel. The first place prize allowed me to test out your Loco Mojo shoes and I have been very pleased with them. Thanks again!!! Best Regards,
Caroline K - Portsmouth, NH

Hi Mike- Thanks for the response. I think I will stay with the Perfecto for the time being, it is feeling very good and I think, like you, that the wider fit of the Xpresso might not be good with my narrow foot. I would be very happy to give you a quote for whatever purpose you want to use it for as I really think you are making a good shoe with the Perfecto.
"I tried the Perfecto and in comparison to shoes in the similar category with other big name shoe companies, it held it's own and more. If I were to describe my perfect shoe, it would be one which has these characteristics: mildly stable, very responsive, flexible forefoot, smooth heel to toe transition, well cushioned but firm feeling (not squishy) and on the light side. That is what I got with the Perfecto."
Hope that helps and much success with Loco shoes. Next up: how about a trail Perfecto? Alan M.

Mike, I received them yesterday, UPS had a slight problem, but no worries. Tried them out this morning on a 3 mile recovery run (5K race last night), they felt really good. Gotta say, 3 miles in, I'm very pleased. Suggestion - get some gear made up. With your company name and the model names, I would buy a hat or two and some shirts, socks or whatever. (as long as it was all of the same high quality as your shoes). I'd even buy a running bag that said LOCO on it real big... Thanks, Sean

Love those long winded stories? Great for long runs.

We do too, here are a few!

Mike, Got the Loco Perfectos Thursday night. I had already run that day, so I just tried them on and walked up the driveway. They felt good, but obviously they hadn't really been tried out yet. Friday was a rest day. Saturday I had a little local 10K to run. I put the Locos on with the intent of warming up for 5-10 minutes in them and then switching to a "broken in" pair of shoes for the race. To make a long story short, I was 30 minutes off on the start time of the race and they had lost my registration, so by the time I got my bib, I had a couple minutes to warm up and no time to head back to my truck to change shoes, so I broke a cardinal rule and ran the race in a brand new pair of shoes. They were great. Felt super, rode perfectly. I had a "over age 30" PR in the race and ran 5 more miles in the shoes when I got home. I'm impressed.

Greetings Michael, My name is Chris Griffin.

The purpose of my missive is to simply thank you for your shoes and your company. What a simple, profound and desperately needed premise for a company. The time has come and I'm glad you're the ones to fill the shoes (sorry for the pun).

During the workshop you attended in Boston, you were kind enough to sell me a pair of the LOCO Xpresso size 10.5. Since then I've been wearing the shoes religiously and cannot get over how superior of a shoe it really is. I've honestly never worn a more comfortable pair of shoes! I absolutely love them and am constantly telling my clients about your company, it's philosophy, the quality of the shoes, the integrity of the company and the exemplary shoes themselves.

Thank you once again for all the commendable work you do by manufacturing a high quality shoe, sold at an incredibly affordable price, that has an unbeatable "test run" guarantee, allowing one to feel comfortable giving your shoes a try. Then if the person falls in love with the shoes (and you just know they will) they don't have to be worried their beloved shoe will be discontinued next year due to your "model promise". Your commitment to the shoes, the customer and the running community is something I hope will spread throughout the industry and all companies out there.

Keep up all the great work and pass along the most sincere of Kudos to those helping you in all aspects of the company.

Hi. I just bought my second pair of Loco Mojos at Bill Roger's store in Quincy Market, after being extremely pleased with my first pair, which I bought at the Ollie 5-miler in South Boston. I convinced a friend of mine, who never seems quite happy with any shoe, to try the Mojos. I went with him yesterday on his inaugural run in his new Mojos, and he was elated! He can't believe how comfortable his feet feel. I think he was even moved to write to you with his review.

Well, I wanted to add my comments as well. I really like the Mojos. They are all about no-nonsense performance, which suits me perfectly. They are comfortable and stable, and feel very natural, not artificial or over-engineered. The mesh upper fits like a glove, and the sole offers alot of cushion while maintaining a high level of stability and control. They are substantial, yet don't feel heavy. In short the perfect shoe for training and a good choice for mid- to long-distance racing. And my feet thank you for making sure they are available for years to come. Once we find a shoe we really like, as we have with the Mojo, we don't like being forced to change. (Sorry New Balance, Asics, etc. but it's hard for me to give you my loyalty when you don't show loyalty to me by constantly retiring and redesigning your models.)

I wish Loco the tremendous success you deserve. You've had a loyal customer (and evangelist) in me since October, and now my friend Matt, with more being added daily, I'm sure. Do what it takes to get your name out there. I'm sure once people try your shoes (esp. the Mojo, IMHO) they won't likely go back to your overpriced, gimmicky, and capricious big-name competitors.

Keep up the good work!

Gregory Picklesimer

I'm very interested in trying your running shoes. In fact I think that having the same style of shoe for 5 years is the way to go. There's nothing more frustrating than having your favorite shoe "updated" only to find out the updated style doesn't fit nearly as well as the original. My question is about what size to order. I've been wearing New Balance now for several years and find that a size 12 works for me. Whenever I see them advertised in catalogs however, you are told to "order up one size". Would this mean I should order down a size in your shoes? The dress shoes that I currently wear (Rockport) are size 11. Thanks for your help!

John Fitzgerald

Mike,
It's been a few weeks since I started running in my Perfecto running shoes. I must say that they are aptly named. They are the most comfortable running shoes that I've ever worn! Knowing that I'll be able to order this exact style of shoe for the next 5 years is of great comfort to me.
I took advantage of the Bandito offer (thank you for solving that issue) and wore those for the first time this week. Again, a very comfortable, lightweight shoe that I look forward to racing in. I'll be wearing those on the starting line at my first Falmouth in August. Thanks again for your time,

John Fitzgerald

From the time I decided to do a four mile run in them, I knew I didn't want to send these back for any reason. I may, however, wish to buy a different pair. May I also try out a different model for different reason? I truly am wondering if the wide sizing of the lightweight trainer is because feet swell? I'm thinking that is why they are made that way?

I just did my second run in the Bandito's. Enjoyed it. Was only a short 3 mile rest run. Felt like running more. Felt like running faster. I held back, knowing it didn't flow with my schedule. I like these shoes. They are just a good minimal shoe. They provide cushioning. They allow your feet to do what they were meant to do. They don't try to do for your feet so they won't have to do it themselves. You're welcome to use my comments on your site. One thing you might add to your line. A hat that has a computerized hammer mounted on it. It will sense when a CEO is thinking about something stupid like a computerized shoe. It will "knock him upside the head".
